Dorota Pasko

I am from Katowice, Poland. I did my Master studies in Bioinformatics at Silesian University of Technology, Poland. I also obtained an MSc in Applied Bioinformatics at Cranfield University, UK. My master thesis project was focused on analysing the gene expression data from microarrays and stating if the obtained results correlate with human aging. The project was performed in conjunction with Unilever, UK.

BOLD Project:

My BOLD project is focused on defining the genetics basis of how beta cell function influences the risk of type 2 diabetes. Genome wide association studies have identified over 30 genetic loci in which common variants influence the risk of type 2 diabetes. The aim of the project is to test a very dense set of common and low frequency genetic variants in order to identify additional associations with type 2 diabetes in existing loci.
