Elisa De Franco

I obtained my master degree in Medical Biotechnology at the University of Turin (Italy). My Master’s thesis involved the analysis by pyrosequencing of a large cohort of prostate cancer patients, in order to assess the association between different SNPs in the PSA promoter region and prostate cancer risk.

PhD Project as part of BOLD:

I joined the Monogenic Diabetes Group at the University of Exeter in January 2010. The aim of my PhD project is to assess the role of transcriptional factors involved in pancreatic development in MODY and neonatal diabetes onset.
