Infrastructure and Resources:DDI is associated with the Université Catholique de Louvain Medical School (Brussels) which runs the PhD program in partnership with the inter-university Graduate Colleges of the French Community of Belgium. Research group on "Liver and pancreas development" has specific expertise in molecular and cellular mechanisms of development of the liver and pancreas development and masters techniques in cell and molecular biology, including imaging technology, has access to the facilities of the host institution and runs the transgenic core facility. The group includes 2 PIs, 3 ERs, 4 ESRs, 2 assistants. 2 senior scientists will be involved in training: 2a F Lemaigre (liver development), 2b P Jacquemin (pancreas morphogenesis).
Training:14 PhD theses and 7 post-doctoral researchers have been trained in the group in 1998-2008. Professor Lemaigre is the president of the Graduate School in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the Université Catholique de Louvain Medical School (Brussels), and member of the board of the interuniversity Graduate School in Cell and Molecular Biology of the French community of Belgium.
